All art projects are flexible and can be customized to reflect current classroom themes.
Each will include 3 curriculum objectives of the principals and elements of design, specific to the target grade, references to cultural contexts and time for critical analysis.

Projects for Students in Grades 1-3
Project: Make Three Snakes ~Clay
The students will make 3 snakes, one long, one short and one coiled with a focus on each grades curriculum objectives. We use white oven bake clay, which they form and paint in one step. We take will the snakes to our kiln and bake them and return the projects the next day. Cost per student: $6:00
Project: Wild Animals
We begin the workshop with a reading of “Where the Wild Things Are” by Maurice Sendak. Students will use our huge variety of rubbing stencils to create patterned paper; each with cut out animal body shapes and reassemble and glue the shapes into wild animals onto a landscape on big paper. Cost per student: $ 5.00
Projects for Students in Grades 1-3
Project: Eric Carle Style Animals
We begin the workshop with a reading of “The mixed up Chameleon” by Eric Carle
Students will use water colour crayons to create beautifully patterned paper in the style of Eric Carle; each with cut out animal body shapes and reassemble and glue the shapes into fantastic creatures, onto a landscape on big paper. Cost per student: $ 5.00
Project: Puppet Show Day!
Students will watch a short puppet show, decorate their own puppet people, learn how to plan their own puppet show skit, and perform small skits on our full sized puppet theatre. Cost per student: $ 5.00
Projects for Students in Grades 4-8
Project: People and Proportion
Construction of a cardboard person stencil, with moveable limbs, and a drawing project, using the stencil to experiment with poses and trace the body into a painted landscape on big paper. Cost per student: $ 5.00

Project: Non-objective Radial Painting
Students will explore a variety of abstract painting and masking techniques to create their own circular radial painting on canvas. Cost per student: $ 6.00

Project: Printmaking
Students will start with planning out their desired print composition, transfer their ideas to a printing plate, then roll and print several prints onto paper.

Using printmaking, students will turn a prewritten short story, into an illustrated, hand printed book. Several copies can be made. Cost per student: $ 15.00
